The EdUHK-THU Education Forum on Future Education and Learning, jointly organised by The Education University of Hong Kong and Tsinghua University, was held with great distinction at the University's Tai Po campus on 13-14 June 2025. The forum brought together over 300 education scholars, policymakers, and industry leaders from more than 20 countries worldwide, focusing on the core theme of artificial intelligence reshaping the educational ecosystem. Master student Liu Qian from our institute attended the forum in Hong Kong and delivered an academic presentation.

In a parallel session, Liu Qian presented her study entitled “Characteristics, Impacts and Challenges of Interdisciplinary Micro-credentials in Higher Education in China”. The study adopted a mixed-methods approach combining multiple case studies and policy text analysis, selecting micro-credential programs from universities across China to examine their curriculum design, university-industry collaboration models, and pathways for student outcome transformation. The study identified the defining features, impacts, and challenges of micro-credentials in Chinese higher education.
Under the overarching theme of “Future Education and Learning,” this year’s EdUHK-THU Education Forum facilitated in-depth discussions on topics such as how AI is reshaping traditional education models, future curriculum development, ethical considerations in AI-enhanced learning, AI literacy, educational leadership, and entrepreneurship education.
