From December 4th to 6th, 2024, the 2024 International Conference of the Society for Research into Higher Education (SRHE) was held at the University of Nottingham, UK. The theme of this conference was “Higher Education: A Place for Activism and Resistance?”. The conference included keynote speeches, parallel sessions, poster exhibitions, and journal interviews. Associate Professor Qiao Lianquan, along with master’s students Li Chunxin and Ren Jia, participated in the conference.
In a parallel session, master’s student Li Chunxin delivered a presentation entitled “The U-shaped Relationship between Stress and Cyberloafing among College Students: The Moderating Role of Stress Coping Styles”. The report mainly explored the relationship between stress and cyberloafing among college students in the digital age, and analyzed the role of stress coping styles in this process.
During the conference, our faculty and postgraduate students actively participated in various academic activities organized by the host, engaging in extensive academic exchanges and discussions with higher education researchers from around the world. This not only broadened their international perspectives and deepened their professional understanding, but also showcased the excellent academic qualities and solid professional foundation of our faculty and postgraduate students.


Founded in 1965, the Society for Research into Higher Education (SRHE) has long been committed to promoting public understanding of higher education by supporting and developing higher education research, as well as encouraging knowledge exchange among researchers, practitioners, and policymakers. This SRHE International Research Conference provided a platform for knowledge sharing and intellectual exchange for higher education theorists and practitioners.
