From 2 to 4 December 2025, Society for Research into Higher Education (SRHE) International Conference 2025 was held at the University of Nottingham, UK. The conference was themed “Compassion, collegiality and communities in higher education: challenging the discourse” and featured a rich programme including keynote sessions, parallel sessions, poster sessions, and meet-the-editors sessions. Doctoral student Yang Yang attended the conference and presented her work.
During a parallel session, Yang Yang presented a study entitled “To Stay or to Leave? The Impact of Academic Career Development Support on Postdocs’ Career Intentions.” The presentation systematically examined the current landscape of academic career development support for postdoctoral researchers worldwide and its relationship with postdocs' career intentions. Following the presentation, scholars from different countries and regions engaged in an in-depth discussion on the academic labour market and supported mechanisms for early-career researchers across national contexts.

Founded in 1965, the Society for Research into Higher Education (SRHE) is dedicated to advancing research, policy dialogue, and practice innovation in higher education. It provides an international platform for exchange and collaboration among researchers, policymakers, and higher education leaders. The SRHE International Conference, held each year, attracts scholars from around the world and is widely recognized as a major academic event in the field of higher education research.
